Severin was born in 1826. He passed away in 1900. He was the son of Mathias Schwab and Maria Anna Ott. [1] His baptisms took place 22 February 1826 at Katholisch, Grafenhausen, Freiburg, Baden. [2] At about 21 years of age, Severin emigrated to the United States, landing in New York City aboard the Charlotte Reed on 26 August 1848. [3] About a month later he married his first wife, Pauline Herzog. They soon were the parents of a son, Wendell Schwab. After her death, Severin married Katherine Guschwa. They were the parents of ten children.
