Allen Schweitzer was born in New York in 1886, son of Harry Schweitzer and Annie Davis. Allen and his older brother, like others in the family started in the poultry business and even founded their own company, "Schweitzer Bros," in 1912 and set up shop in Brooklyn. He later had his own grocery business in East Orange, New Jersey, for a number of years, but by 1930 he is listed as a "Poultry salesman, wholesale house." In 1942 Allen was working as a salesman for his cousin, Nathan Schweitzer's poultry and meat business in New York. Allen celebrated his 90th birthday in New York in November 1976. He passed away in 1980.
