Biography

Margherita Sciacchitano is a Corleone native resident, the daughter of Giuseppe Sciacchitano and Caterina Lanza. She is confirmed at the age of 6 in Corleone in November 1720. Her sponsor is Susanna Ligotino.^[1]

Margherita marries Arcangelo di Puma, a widower, on 17 January 1735. Her father has died by this time, and her mother is living.

Margherita and Arcangelo have at least three children: Castrenza (c. 1741), Mercurio (c. 1750), and Isidore (c. 1755).

I estimate Castrenza is born around 1741, twenty years before she marries.

I estimate Mercurio is born around 1750, twenty years before he marries.

I estimate Isidore is born around 1755, twenty years before he marries.

Castrenza marries Professor Giovanni di Leo on 28 June 1761. Her parents are both still living.

Mercurio marries Gaetana Trumbatore on 29 April 1770. His father has died by this time, and his mother is living.

Isidore marries Gioachina lo Leggio on 29 October 1775. This record indicates both his parents are living, in contradiction of his brother's 1770 marriage.

Castrenza dies on 9 October 1785. Her age at death is not reported. Her husband survives her.^[2]
