Biography

James Scott was born about 1850 in Westmorland County, New Brunswick. He was the son of Israel Scott and Jemima Fillmore. He grew up on the family farm.

In 1871, there was a James Scott, age 15, living with John Manning Hicks & Jane (Scott) Hicks. Was that this James Scott? If so, then his age is wrong on the census, as Jane's brother James was born about 1850, so he would have been 21 at the time of the census.

James married Lucy O'Brien on February 2, 1888.[1] The were married at the home of James's youngest sister Annie and brother-in-law Albion Hicks[2]
