Biography

This profile is for somebody who may have never existed. No sources were included and it may be a duplicate of a legitimate Magna Carta descendant. It is being left in place to hopefully prevent similar or duplicate profiles from being created.

It appears to be a bad duplicate of the "real" Mary Scott (1640-1665) who married the "real" Christopher Holder (1631-1688) in 1660 at Olveston, Gloucestershire.

A marriage to Christopher Holder about 1623 in Yarmouth, Barnstable, Massachusetts was originally asserted without proof.

Parents Thomas Scott and Elizabeth Cooke Charde were asserted without proof.

Daughter Elizabeth Holder (duplicate profiles Holder-821, Holder-3705) were asserted without proof.

Siblings Elizabeth Scott and Edmund Edward Scott were asserted without proof (and middle names were virtually unheard of in 1600).

This confusion is being caused by the fact there were two sets of Mary Scott + Christopher Holder within the same family. Elizabeth Holder was born four years after her parents (Mary Scott and Christopher Holder) arrived in the US. Elizabeth's brother, Christopher, named after her father, married his first cousin, Mary Scott. Elizabeth's brother is often confused with her father, and Elizabeth's sister in law is often confused with her mother. You can only follow the line by paying attention to the birth dates. Now, this doesn't mean the parents listed on this page is correct. What it does mean is that things that look like duplicates/the same person are in fact 2 different people. It's a matter of sorting out the two Christophers and two Marys.
