From John Tamplin - "See the note on Polly Sullivan - I don't think they were ever married, with 1 child from an unknown father, then 3 with Joel but not married."
Note that Joel's children born to Polly and then Susan have dates that overlap with his marriages, and the children from multiple mothers seem to have lived with him and his licit wife after his marriage to Susan. Note also that after his and Malissa's divorce she remained living next door to him.
