Biography

Charlotte was born in 1864 and baptised in 1864-06-05. She was the daughter of Henry Scott and Eliza Hysted. She passed away in 1914 and was buried in 1914-06-22 in the Anglican cemetery, Guildford, Perth, Western Australia.

Charlotte emigrated to Australia on board the SS Zealandic which sailed from Liverpool on 1911-10-29 to Australia , the manifest shows Charlotte, Lucy and Stewart on page 11 and Thomas is on page 10, however according to family tradition Lucy was already there, she had gone ahead before the death of her father in Feb 1908, so who is this Lucy West on the ship with them and of the same age as Charlotte's daughter Lucy. Family tradition also states that her sons Sidney and Frederick sailed with them however they are not on the ships manifest. The SS Zealandic arrived in Fremantle harbour on 191-12-07 where Charlotte and her 2 or 3 children disembarked, the ship then continued on its was to Port Adelaide arriving 1911-12-12 The SS Zealandic's manifest also shows that Charlotte and her son Thomas had Diphtheria

This census states that there were 8 children but one had died, we now know that his name was Albert Victor West.
