Henry was born in 1856. He is the son of John Scott and Mary Hoodless.
He was a clergyman of the Church of England, but seems to have preferred teaching to preaching, and features in 1891 and 1901 as head of a boys' boarding school in Eastbourne, Sussex, with up to twenty pupils.
He married Margaret Amy Matheson in Canterbury in 1882, and the couple are on record as having five sons : They were: Charles von Essen Scott (1886), John Gordon Cameron Scott (1888), Hugh Sumner Scott (1889), Aubrey Heylyn Scott (1891 and Henry Cecil Scott (1892). WikiTree profiles should be prepared for these, although it is known that the eldest son, Charles, died aged fifteen while a scholar at Marlborough College.
Henry and Margaret died, respectively, in 1926 and 1930, and were buried in Ocklynge Cemetery, Eastbourne.
