Biography

Ann Scott was born in 1843, in England, the daughter of Andrew Scott and Sarah Walker.
Ann married Richard Mathieson(1842-1915), the son of William Mathieson and Hannah Stretton, on Friday, November 22, 1867 at 5 Abbey Strand, Edinburgh, Scotland. Ann and Richard had seven children:
Ann worked as a domestic servant and a shopkeeper.
Ann Scott died on Tuesday, January 3, 1922 in 12 Regent Place, Edinburgh, Scotland.

The register entry also informs us that groom Richard lived at Restalrig; his father was teacher William Mathieson (deceased) and his mother was Hannah Mathieson. Furthermore, bride Ann lived at Dr Begg Buildings; her father was mason Andrew Scott and her mother was Sarah Scott (deceased), formerly Walker.

The entry also states that he was married to Ann Scott; he was an engineers labourer; his father was John Mathieson (deceased), an army school teacher; his mother was Ann Mathieson (deceased), formerly Strachan; and he died of heart disease and dropsy.
The death was reported to registrar John Jamieson on Saturday, July 10, 1915, in Edinburgh by son William J Mathieson, of 50 Newbigging, Musselburgh.

1922 - Ann's Death: 12 Regent Place, Edinburgh, Scotland. [21]
Ann Mathieson died on Friday, February 3, 1922, at 12 Regent Place, Edinburgh, at the age of seventy-eight, according to her District of Canongate in the City of Edinburgh death register entry.
The entry also states that she was widow of Richard Mathieson, brewery cellarman; her father was Andrew Scott (deceased), a mason; her mother was Mary Scott (deceased), formerly Sinclair; she died of Broncho-pneumoni; her illness lasted 13 days; and her death was certified by WB Alexander surgeon.
The death was reported to registrar M Campbell on Saturday, February 4, 1922, in Edinburgh by son Richard Mathieson, who was present at the time of death.
