Biography
Rebecca was born in 1807 in Ireland.[1] She was the daughter of James Scott of Ballyare and Rebecca Sproule of Spamount.[2] She married her first cousin James Sproule.[1][2]
As of October 2021, there is a lot of misinformation regarding the descendants of James and Rebecca being perpetuated on family history websites such as Ancestry. Please see this excellent piece[3] by Kate Tammemagi for a further discussion.
