Research Notes
“By the marriage of Sybille Lewknor (whose mother, Joanna Holsham, was sole heiress of her uncle, Sir Hugh) the Scott’s derive a descent from the Valences, Comyns, Baliols, Athols, which to the descendants of Sir William Scott is a matter of considerable interest.”[6]

The 1445 date appears to come from Marlyn Lewis' website, which although it cites Douglas Richardson's books doesn't appear to cite anything for the birth date.
The 1459 date of birth perhaps comes from the Inquisitions post mortem of his father, which is dated 28 September 1486 (2nd year of Henry VII) where William is aged 26 or more. See here (no. 110, 134 & 138) https://www.british-history.ac.uk/inquis-post-mortem/series2-vol1/pp41-60
wikidata says 1459, citing ODNB: see Wikipedia's article on William Scott.
