Biography
Michael was born about 1776[1], the son of Joseph Scott and Margaret Cottnam.
Michael was an officer of the 61st Regiment, stationed at Gilbralter. He executed his will on 13 June 1806 while on board the Store ship New Diligence making his mother Margaret his sole executrix. He passed away a couple of weeks later and was buried at Trafalgar Cemetery, Gilbralter[2]. Probate of his will was granted to Margaret on the 30 September[3] .

One son was Joseph (called Joe by his father), who was then 34 years of age, while the other was likely George, born 1766. Michael, the only son mentioned in Joseph's will, was 9 years old in 1785.
