Biography

Simeon was born 28 April 1794, the son of Simeon Scranton and his wife Ziba Stevens.[1].

He was a Methodist preacher and farmer.[2] He married first Nancy Loveland, daughter of Ezra on 25 July 1816. She died 8 April 1825. [3]

John Nelson Scranton, a dentist, the son of Rev Simeon Scranton and Nancy Loveland, married Mary 8 February 1851. She was daughter of Lewis Berry Slocum and Clarissa Bryan b. 7 Jan 1827.[4]

He married second Anna Fields, daughter of Ichabod, 23 Oct 1825 in Guilford, Connecticut[5][6] [3]

In 1850 he was living in Madison, New Haven, Connecticut.[7] The household included Simeon Scranton age 55, Anna Scranton age 49, Amelia Scranton age 21, David E Scranton age 19, and Christopher A Scranton age 11, all born in Connecticut. Simeon was a farmer.

He died 5 Nov 1858.[8][9][10][3]

He is buried in Clinton Cemetery, Clinton, Connecticut.[11][12][13]
