Biography

Sinclair "Cinkler" Scribner was born in Salisbury, New Hampshire on May 13, 1811, the son of Iddo and Phebe (Peasley) Scribner. The family moved to Maine where Cinkler grew up.

In Cinkler's lifetime he would be married three times. In around 1839 he first married Rosanna "Sarah" Hall, the daughter of John and Annie (Grover) Hall. There would be at least two children from this union as follows:

Addison Cinkler Scribner (1841-1908)

Mary Emma (Scribner) Forbush/Wilcox (1846-1921)

Rosanna died in 1848 at 27 years of age.

Cinkler next married Carolyn Selah Seagrave in 1849 in Uxbridge, Worcester County, Massachusetts. Carolyn was the daughter of John and Mary (Scott) Seagrave. Evidently there were no children from this marriage. Carolyn passed away in 1876.

Sometime after Carolyn died Cinkler married his third wife, Abbie Chilson, and once again there were no children born to this union.

Cinkler died in 1884 in Seekonk, Massachusetts. His body is buried in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Uxbridge, Worcester County, Massachusetts, along with several family members.
