Biography

Ernest was born in 1865, the son of Nelson and Caroline (Blanchard) Scribner. He would live his entire life in Washington County, Maine, working for most of his life on his parent's farm.

On June 7, 1916, when 51 years of age, Ernest married Elsie M. Clough, the daughter of Edward and Mary P. (Davidson) Clough. Elsie was also from Washington County. The couple would have one child, Myrtle Louise (Scribner) Hayman, born on January 30, 1917 and died in 1979.

Just three short months after marrying Elsie, Ernest died on September 19, 1916.

NOTE: Two records were found, listed under the "See Also" heading in Sources, which indicate Ernest and Elsie had a child out of wedlock in 1909. This child was Phyllis Mae (Scribner) Bickford (1909-1976).
