City Directory of Kansas City, Missouri; FHL # 6044015; pages 27, 33, 101 and 129. He was a member of the IOOF Kansas City Lodge (U.D.) (serving as J.W.). Occupation in 1860 was a lumber dealer with his office at the corner of Main and Fourth. His residence was on the west side of Charlotte between Fourth and Fifth. Charlotte runs from Levee to Independence Ave., east to Kansas.
Marriage License book 2, page 85; Gainesville, Cooke, Texas.
Census 1870 Cooke Co., Texas page 209. Personal Estate valued at 30. Real
estate valued at 40.
Occupation was farmer.
1870 Agricultural Census of Gainesville, Cooke, Texas; Pct 1, pages 7&8. He has 160 acres of improved land, 20 acres of woodland and 3000 acres of other land. His land is valued at 00 and his farm machinery is valued at 0. He has 30 horses, 4 mules, 12 milk cows, 20 other cattle, 40 sheep and 50 swine. His livestock is valued at 80. His fields yielded 200 bushels of wheat, 600 bushels of Indian corn and 700 bushels of oats.

Tax Rolls 1882 showed that he owned over 1100 acres of land and a lot in
