In 1870, "John W. Sebott"was listed as a one-year old child in the household of George Seabolt in Dandridge, Tennessee.[1]
He was married to Ida Belle Whalen on 1 Oct 1892 in Jefferson County, Tennessee. [2]
In 1900, he was a farmer, living in Jefferson county's civil district 2 with his wife and three children: Nanny, Ralph, and Harry.[3]
The family moved to Texas sometime between 1902 and 1906.[4][5] In 1910, the family lived in Collin county, where John was a farmer.
In 1920[6] and 1930[7] John was still working his farm in Collin county. He died at the age of 67 on 18 April 1937 and was buried in Frankford Cemetery, Dallas, Collin County, Texas.[8]
An obituary was published in the Richardson Echo on 23 April 1937:[9]
"John William Seabolt, age 68, died Sunday, April 18 at his home after a long illness. Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock with Rev. J.E. Bufkin and Rev. G.C. Randolph, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Frankford cemetery. Surviving are his wife, two daughters: Mrs. E. Wilson of Renner and Mrs. J.W. Eaton of San Diego, six sons: Carl, Jim and Pat of Addison, Ralph of Renner, Henry of Dallas, and Bill of Hutchins, seventeen grandchildren and a host of friends."
