Charles Earnest Seals was born on August 12,1909 in McMinn County, Tennessee, to Edward Watts Seals and Donna Seals.[1] As a baby he was in his parent's home in District 1, McMinn County, Tennessee.[2] By 1920, at age 10, he had 2 brothers, Elmer, and Colonel.[3] The family moved on to Hamilton County, Tennesse by 1930.[4]
