Biography

Alice was born in Staines Middlesex on 12 September 1882. She is the daughter of Charles Searle and Alice Pryor Rainer. Her christening was on 12 November 1882 in Staines.

As a young woman, i.e. at the time of the 1901 Census, Alice was working as a domestic cook.

On 23 March 1907, Alice married Joseph Richard Carter in Chobham, Surrey and they would become the parents of 2 children.

After 44 years of marriage, Alice was widowed in 1951 and she passed away in Heathfield, Sussex on 11 January 1979 at age 96.
