Biography
Mary Courtis Searle was born in 1848 and baptised 7 May 1848 in Feock, daughter of Matthew and Catherine of Harkit, Feock[1]
In the 1851 census, Matthew Searle Jnr (25), Catherine Searle (26), Mary C Searle (2) and Catherine Searle (1) are living at Harcourt, Feock, Cornwall. All were born in Feock[2]
In the 1861 census, Matthew Searle (35), Catherine Searle (36), Mary C Searle (12), Catherine Searle (11), Charlotte Searle (9), John W Searle (7), Samuel T Searle (5), James H Searle (3) and William Searle (1) are living at Loe Vane, Feock, Cornwall. All were born in Feock[3]
Mary Curtis Searle married Thomas Odgers Nicholls on 30 August 1869 in Feock. Thomas was 29, a bachelor and sadler of Truro, son of William Odgers (a confectioner). Mary was 21, a spinster of Feock, daughter of Matthew (a waterman). Witnesses were Matthew and Charlotte Searle[4]
