John Sears was born on October 13, 1781, in Greenwich, Massachusetts, the eighth and youngest child of Freeman Sears and Mehitable Haskell. He had three brothers and four sisters. [1] He died on July 5, 1834, in Prescott, Massachusetts, at the age of 52,[2] and was buried in Ware, Massachusetts.[3]
