Ebenezer Sears[1] was born on 15 Aug 1694 in Yarmouth, Barnstable, Massachusetts, USA (Barnstable County, Cape Cod as the first child of Paul Sears and Mercy Freeman). He had eleven siblings, namely: Paul, Elizabeth, Thomas, Rebecca, Mercy, Deborah, Ann, Joshua, Daniel, Edmund, and Hannah. He died in 1748 in East Hampton, Middlesex, Connecticut, USA[2]. When he was 25, he married Sarah Gorham Howes,daughter of Ebenezer Howes and Sarah Gorham, on 26 May 1720 in Yarmouth, Barnstable, Massachusetts, USA.

Ebenezer Sears and Sarah Gorham Howes had the following children:

  1. Sarah Sears was born on 10 Mar 1720/21 in Yarmouth, Barnstable, Massachusetts. She died after 16 May 1804. She married James Higgins on 06 Oct 1742 in Yarmouth, Barnstable, Massachusetts.

The Descendants of Richard Sares (Sears) of Yarmouth, Mass., 1638-1888Page 80, No 34 Ebenezer Sears removed with his family to Middletown, CT, where, in 1748, he made a purchase of land on the east side of the Connecticut river, in that part afterward set off as Chatham. Ebnr Howes of Yarmouth, in his will dated Dec 3, 1760, mentions his daughter, Sarah Sears. Joseph Gorham's will 27 Jul 1723 and widow Sarah Gorham will 1 May 1728 mention gr.-dau. Sarah.
  • History of Middlesex co, Town of Chatham THE CHRISTIAN ADVENTS: The Christian Advents have held occasional services in Sears' Hall, in East Hampton, for the past four or five years.

I have Sarah married to both Ebenezer and William B. Sears. The dates are the same. My ancestry subscription is not active so I cannot see the details. UGH!
