The Descendants of Richard Sares (Sears) of Yarmouth, Mass., 1638-1888Page 277 (Joel Munsell's Sons, 1890) Mr Sears was a tailor; dwelt in Newark Valley til Spring of 1831; at Talcott's Corners, Venice, NY til spring of 1833, and at Northville, Genoa, NY til fall of 1834, when he returned to Newark Valley, where his widow still lives. In his early days he was a great hunter and killed many deer on the hills about Newark Valley. He joined the "Washingtonians" in 1840; was baptized and joined the Cong. Ch. in Newark Valley, Jan 2 1859
