Based on my research and the sources I just added, I believe William was born in Indiana. This may help for future research for him.
Also, if the source I found for his marriage is a correct for this couple, then I believe I have also found his mother’s name—Margaret McCall. This is his mother’s name in a similar marriage document, which doesn’t include the date of marriage but matches the attached marriage certificate in place, names of the couple, and name of the officiant.
