Jacob S. Seaver was born on or about 14 June 1814[1] in newly formed Scott County, Virginia. He was the son of Jacob Seaver and Esther Croberger. He married Emeline Beach on 16 September 1838 in Ripley County, Indiana.
Jacob was an early settler of Prairie Township, Jewell County, Kansas. His family settling here in the early 1870's from Eldora, Hardin County, Iowa. He died 28 May 1883 at the home of his son Jacob W. Seaver in Prairie Township, Kansas (southwest of Randall).
According to an obituary in the Jewell County Republican, Jacob Seaver was buried in Pleasant Prairie Cemetery in Randall, Jewell County, Kansas. The grave is unmarked.[3]
