Anne (Seay) Chapman was a Virginia colonist.

Anne Seay was born in 1769 in Amelia County, Virginia, the daughter of Jesse Seay and Elizabeth Lyon. She married widower Captain John Chapman on January 27, 1791 in Ameila County, Virginia. [1]Together they had seven children:

  1. Ann Chapman
  2. Beverly Randolph Chapman
  3. John Chapman
  4. Lorenzo Chapman
  5. Mahala Chapman
  6. Mary “Polly” Chapman
  7. Memory Chapman

Anne died on January 22, 1830, in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, and was buried in the Chapman family burial plot on the old Chapman plantation along with her husband..[2]John and Anne's headstones are no longer there. A memorial marker was erected at Mt. Zion Cemetery by the DAR for Capt. John Chapman.
