Biography

Maggie (Seay) Church is a member of the Appalachia Project (North Central Appalachia Team).

My birth name was Virginia Kathleen Seay. I was born Dania, Florida. We moved to Scottsville VA area when I was about 5 years old. I went to Cunningham Elemental School and Fluvanna High School. In 1971 I married Roger E Hamshar and had to switch to Albemarle High School for my senior year. We had two beautiful children and moved around a lot. We lived in VA, CA, AL, Germany and ended up in WA. but got divorced in 1992. At this time I changed my first name from Virginia to Maggie, because my father called me magpie. I have remarried a wonderful man, Robert Church and still live in WA. I worked for the Federal Government for 37 years and retired in 2017.

Hi Maggie,

Welcome to the Appalachia Project - North Central Appalachia Team! When you have the chance, please add your North Central Appalachia interests next to your name on this page.  Also, please review our Reliable (and Unreliable) Sources for the Appalachia Project [1] to help with sourcing our Profiles as you add or come across them.  WikiTree requires valid sources on all Profiles and our Project has certain requirements for sources.  Check the Appalachia Stickers Page for tips on adding stickers to profiles. I am always available for any questions or help.  Thanks for joining the team. Karen, North Central Team Lead - Appalachia Project

Hi!

How are you? I'm Shirley, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info. Do you have Royal Ancestors? Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

And I'm here to help too, just ask!

Shirley ~ WikiTree Mentor

Hi Maggie,

Just a quick PS

Don't forget to Head over to the G2G forum. and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House or ask a question in any of the other categories. There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: for that "special" ancestor who is eluding you.

if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

Best Wishes, and have fun adding your leaves and branches!

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community! Please remember that we are trying to build one Collaborative Global Family Tree which means only one profile per person. It is important to ensure that no duplicates are created and profiles are properly sourced.

To help you get started, check out an introductory WikiTree video that a member created. For member benefits, see our Community Members page.

We also have a Mentor Team who will be glad to answer questions and help you with any specific problems.

Welcome and Enjoy!

My last name Seay is not the names I am researching. My father was adopted by the Seay family. His real father was named J Bridgman and mother was Agnes Henry. I plan to follow all of the rules and help when possible.
