Biography

Johannes was baptized on 7 October 1703 in the Dutch Church in Brooklyn, Kings County, Long Island, New York, recorded as the child of Roelof Sibering and Cristyntje. His parents were Cristyntje (Volkertse) and Roelof Sibering. [1]

In 1708 his parents moved the family from New York to the Ritan Valley of New Jersey.

Johannes Sebring married about 1726 in New Jersey to Eleanor Petronella Aten (1705-1790).

He established his own home south of the Raritan River, near his father's.

About 1745 he moved his family to Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

On 17 June 1746 he purchased about 400 acres of land in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

He died on 24 February 1773 in Solebury Twp, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

I have now attached a list of his children and am trying to clear up an old problem where Johannes Sebring-32 has 3 wrong children attached with dates that do not compute correctly.

The following 3 children should be moved to the correct parents, Johannes Sebring-106 and Aeltje Lefferts-49 ...

Lefkers Sebring-51
Annetje Sebring-52
unknown Sebring-53.

Then the following merges should be initiated ...

Sebrige-1 merge Sebring-51
Sebring-380 merge Sebring-52

Thanks for the help with this.

What was your source for the list of children? (The baptism is the only bit of this profile that is supported by a good source; more records are needed.)

I got the info from his wife's wikitree profile.

Is the baptism 1702 or 1703 as shown in your church records section? findagrave.com also shows 1703.
Changing his mother from Leboiteaux-1 to Volkertse-1; as can be seen by his baptism records he was Cristyntje's son. It doesn't appear that Roelof had any children by his second wife.
