Isaac was born in 1813 in Fishkill, New York. In 1855, he established the Hedding M.E. Church on Clover Street in Poughkeepsie. He is said to have been a very successful lay preacher in the church. He passed away in 1909 in Poughkeepsie, New York, at the home of his son James H. Secor.
