He married Betty Hampson in 1860. Their marriage was registered in Bolton, Lancashire. [4]
In 1861 Thomas was living with his wife and sister-in-law in Kearsley, Lancashire. He was a collier. [5]
In 1871 the couple were living in Little Hulton, Lancashire.[6] and in 1881, in Chatsworth St, Worsley, Lancashire.[7]
Betty died in 1888.
Thomas remarried; to a widow, Maria (Entwistle) Openshaw on 29 August 1891 in St Peter's church, Farnworth, Lancashire.[8]
