Sarah (Seddon) Hickman was born in Liverpool, Lancashire, England.

Sarah Seddon was born in 1837 in Liverpool, Lancashire, England, the daughter of John Seddon and Margaret Marsh. ^[1]

She was baptised on 25 September 1837 in Liverpool. Her father was a shipwright. The family lived in Stanley Street. ^[2]

In 1851 Sarah was with her parents and 5 siblings in Mill Lane, Tranmere, Cheshire. ^[1]

She married William Hickman on 14 July 1859 in Walton-On-The-Hill, Lancashire.^[3]

In 1861 Sarah was with her husband and their son in Bebington, Cheshire.Her husband was a bricklayer. ^[4]

In 1871 Sarah was with her husband and 4 children in Tranmere. Her widowed mother Margaret Seddon and 2 of her sisters (Ann and Margaret Seddon) were staying with the Hickman family. ^[5]

In 1881 Sarah was with her husband and 6 children in Cobden Place, Tranmere. ^[6]

In 1891 Sarah was with her husband and 2 children in Tranmere. ^[7]

Sarah died aged 58. Her death was registered in 1894 in Birkenhead, Cheshire. ^[8]

Research Notes

Baptism record shows father as John Seddon, shipwright, but mother as Ann. John Seddon married Margaret Marsh in 1836 in Liverpool. Assumed to be a clerical error in baptism record, supported by the fact that when twin brothers William and Thomas were baptised in 1839, the family were still living in Stanley Street.
