Biography
A number of genealogical studies show Barbara as the daughter of Michael Adam See and Barbara Harness. [1]
Her birth date varies from Aug 1756, 1759 to Nov 1769 but none is documented. We do know that the family was then living on Lot #40 of the South Branch Manor along the South Branch of the Potomac, just west of today's Moorefield, Hardy Co, WV.
She married Capt. John Pancake, a neighbor on the South Branch and a veteran of the Rev War, around 1786 but there is no documentation as to the date. The couple appears to have had several children. According to descendant David Boucher, the list is as follows:
