Nancy is listed as one of 14 children born to David and Leah (Jarrett) See in a letter written by her niece, Eliza See Nice to TJJ See July 15, 1906. Having grown up in Cass Co, IN, Eliza See Nice personally knew most of her aunts, uncles and cousins. Her grandparents died when she was fairly young. Like all oral histories there are some errors and those have been noted in my comments.

"They (David and Leah See) had a family of 14 children: named Abraham, Elizabeth, George, Peter, William, John, Margarette, Nancy, David, Jacob, Mary, and the other three died while babies, and so I do not know their names. The only one of this family living is Mrs. Nancy Keever on 601 E. 14th St., Elwood, Ind. She is now 75 years of age."

Nancy was probably named for her mother's sister Nancy Jarrett Morris. 1900 census gives her birth date as July 1832 IN. Even though the 1860 Cass Co, IN census lists Nancy's birth location as Wayne Co, her parents were living in Henry Co, IN ca 1833, the most likely location of her birth.

She and her younger sister, Mary, appear to have been very close, as in later years, 'after both had married, the two couples lived together for awhile, and when Nancy was widowed, she lived with Mary's son, Daniel, and his family.

An exact birth date has not been documented. She is listed at age 17 (b. 1832/1833) in 1850 Cass Co, Deer Creek Twp, IN Census living with her parents and 4 siblings. 1860 census she is living with her widowed father, age 73, at her brother Jacob's home. Nearby lived her other brothers, David, Jr., George, and Peter. Nancy was only 2 years older than her sister-in-law, Mary Lucy Lenon. her brother Jacob, his family and their father, David.

1861, Jan 9: John Keever and Nancy See were married by John Flynn JP (Cass Co, IN Marriage Bk 3:343). She is mentioned as Nancy Keifer in her father's estate settlement April 27, 1871. Her husband is named an administrator of her father's estate. David See Estate, Cass Co., IN. Bk B:626 Census records show she had 6 children though only 3 are listed in census records.

1870 Deer Creek, Cass, Indiana census show Nancy and her family living with her sister, Mary, and her family. The Campbell girls are Mary's daughters by her first husband, John Campbell.

In the 1910 census, Nancy-aged 77 and a widow, is living in with the family of her nephew, Daniel Jacob Jarrett, the son of Nancy's sister Mary and David Harrison Jarrett. When and where Nancy See Keefer or her husband died and are buried is not known.
