Biography

Jacob was born in 1831. He passed away after 1910.

Jacob married Nancy H Owens on February 27, 1853 in Dennysville. [Need source] They had 10 or 11 children. Jacob was from Trescott, near Lubec.

At the time of the 1860 Census, Nancy Owens Seeley was living with her mother, Deborah Cox Owens, in Dennysville with 8-year old nephew Allen Owens (son of Walter Owens). Nancy’s four children are also listed, but husband Jacob Seeley was not listed.

At the time of the 1870 Census, Nancy's mother, Deborah, was living in Edmunds with son Walter Owens (age 51) and grandson Allan Owens (age 19).

At the time of the 1880 Census, Deborah (now age 78) was living with Nancy (age 47) and Jacob (age 48) Seeley in Edmunds. Five Seeley children are also listed: Edward E (age 14), Mina N (age 11), Abram W (age 10), Ellen (age 7), Henry L (age 5).

In the 1910 Census, Jacob (age 56) and Nancy (age 56) Seeley were living on County Road in Edmunds. Their daughter, Helen (Ellen?) Seeley Gardner, age 21, was living with them. The 1910 Census recorded the number of total births Nancy had as 11. Eight of the 11 children were still living in 1910. Nancy died one year later on December 10, 1911. Nancy’s age was given as 80 years, 8 months. Jacob Seeley was listed on her death record as her spouse.
