Genealogy Research

I have been researching my family history since 2010 when an ancestry.com commercial caught my attention. It all started with a free trial and then I was hooked. It wasn't about collecting names for my tree but finding out the stories that went with the names. Genealogy has become a passion of mine and I can usually be found in my office in front of the computer with my Legacy database open and lots of tabs open on the other monitor looking for the stories of my ancestors.

Most of my ancestors are from Pennsylvania and concentrated in Columbia, Montour, and Luzerne counties.

Some of my surnames include Seigfreid (Siegfried), Thomas, Killian, Hunter, Houseknecht, Minnich, Halderman, Hartman, Welsh, Allabach, McHenry, Rutan, Lewis, Masteller, and Shellhammer.

I blog about my family and Legacy family tree at Our Life Picture by Picture.

You can email me at sthomas51004 @gmail.com with any questions or if you think we might be related.

Have fun growing your family tree!!

Hi Shannon, thanks for your comments on my profile page, I was not aware there was appreciation team either, but it is good to know and I value the feedback.

I planned to do a lot more this month but time has been limited. Regards Mike

It's a good feeling to feel appreciated. I can't spend as much time as I would like on genealogy, but everything I add is well researched and backed by sources I trust.

Thank You Rosemary
