Louisa was an orphan. Her family perished under the ice of the Volga river at Christmas time. The sled they were riding in hit a thin spot. She was not with the family because she was too young to go and was being tended to by another family. She was raised by the Rau family in Dinkel. (Story by Ed Peterson, 1986)
Louisa bore eleven children, the eleventh child died at birth in the winter of 1927. The ground was to hard to dig; he was buried with a woman in an unmarked grave. (Story by Art Waltz, 2004)
After a period of illness she died of consumption (TB).
Note: Tarlykovka is the Russian name for the german colony village Dinkel located in Kukkus, Samara, Russia.
