Biography

Anna Catharina Seitz was born before November 29, 1732 in Oetisheim, Germany, the daughter of Laurentius Seitz and Anna Margaretha (Actnuderer) Seitz. She was baptised at Evangelisch, Ötisheim, Neckarkreis, Württemberg on 29 November 1732.[1]

Anna's family came to America in 1742 arriving in Maine.[2]

Anna married Philipp Christoph Vogler in 1746. They had the following children:

  1. John Vogler
  2. Lorenz Vogler,
  3. Phillip Martin Vogler,
  4. Samuel Vogler
  5. George Michael Vogler
  6. Anna Catharina Barbara (Vogler) Elrod Schott
  7. Christoph Vogler
  8. Maria Margaretha (Vogler) Transou Landmann
  9. Elizabeth (Vogler) Hein

There were also two infants who died at birth.

Anna came with her husband and other families from Broad Bay, Maine, with the destination of the Moravian settlement in what is now Forsyth County, North Carolina, but she contracted yellow fever on the trip and died on November 12, 1770 at Cross Creek (present-day Fayetteville), in Cumberland County, North Carolina. I've merged these two profiles. Since Anna was still in a German-speaking community at the time of her marriage, I chose the Seitz spelling for the final profile.
Sides-383 and Seitz-287 appear to represent the same person because: same profiles, English speaking people wrote the name as Sides at the time. thank you
