John Sell chr 1 Nov 1549 at Holy Trinity, Littlebury, son of Richard Sell. John married on 15 June 1565 at Holy Trinity, Littlebury to "Merry" Wright. ^[1]

1) John Sell the elder dated Feb 1585 of the Yates? of Littlebury, yeoman, bequest to his son to have all ...(wording is old style and difficult to read and some areas faded...) mortgages..he asks that his body be buried in Littlebury ...where his father and mother do lay...and to his land in Chrystelle ...his daughters to be paid at the age of 19 years by his executor...Mr Mumford...father after his own father ...to John his shoes? and one hundred pounds to be paid to him at his 25 year...to Margaret one of his daughters 3? pounds to be paid when she is 16 years of age...the Katherine his wife the full of all land until my said son John shall come age... ^[2]

2) will of John Sell in 1602 - he refers to children living together of land of Mary his wife...he then mentions a bequest to Thomas and James Taylor two of the children of Thomas Taylor who was / is married to his Mary daughter to be paid when of age...to son Robert some of the living ...to Marie his wife all singular SEAX (Essex County Office Archives) - John Sell, Elder, yeoman, will mentions Saffron Walden land and children.
