He was born in Union Township. He married (1) Lucinda Heagy on November 14, 1848. He farmed at Plum Creek, on the edge of Pennville. He sold milk in Hanover, PA. On July 1, 1863, 10,000 Union troops camped on his farm before they were called to Gettysburg. Henry and Lucinda had six children: George, Jacob, Lewis, Amos, Emma Fry and John.
