Piers John Sellers OBE (11 April 1955 – 23 December 2016) was a British-American meteorologist, NASA astronaut and Director of the Earth Science Division at NASA/GSFC.

1955 Born in Crowborough, Wealden District, East Sussex, England.
1976 Bachelor of Science in Ecological Science, University of Edinburgh.
1981 Doctorate in Biometeorology, University of Leeds.
1982 Research Meteorologist, Goddard Space Flight Center.
1996 Selected by NASA in Astronauts Group 16. [1]
1994 Awarded the NASA Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal. [2]
2002 Flew on Atlantis STS-112 as MS1 with Jeffrey Ashby, Pamela Melroy, Sandra Magnus, David Wolf and Fyodor Yurchikhin. Awarded the NASA Space Flight Medal, his first of 4. [2]

2006 Flew on Discovery STS-121 as MS4 with Steven Lindsey, Mark Kelly, Michael Fossum, Lisa Nowak, Stephanie Wilson and Thomas Reiter. Awarded the NASA Space Flight Medal, his second of 4. [2]
