He moved to Poughkeepsie, New York in his early 20s and can be found there in the 1930 and 1940 censuses and in various city directories in the 40s and 50s. In 1930 he was single and working in construction, but by 1940 he was married to Laura. They had two daughters Rita and Lucille, and he was working as a salesman for a bakery. In later city directories he was working as a machinist.
