Biography

NAME: Her maiden name is variously spelled Selzer and Seltzer. Her married name is often spelled Treon, but on FindaGrave it is Tryon, and it is known that her husband used that spelling as well.

She died of paralysis in Womelsdorf in 1849.[1]

From an unidentified printed source

Elizabeth Treon (Selzer), the mother, was a native of Berks County, Pa. She was of German parentage, and, resembling her race, was a woman of vigorous constitution, and an earnest and sincere Christian. her piety, kindness of heart, and prayerful spirit, were plainly marked; and these traits and qualities inspired the virtues of their godly home, and linked the affections and memory of their children to a fond recollection of that home. This mother was called to her mhome in the eighty-fourth year of her pilgrimage on earth, and sleeps in the rural cemetery, at Womelsdorf, in her native county and State. The parents were blessed with nine children,—four sons and five daughters,—all of whom attained a great age. The sons were Michael, John, Jacob, and Isaac Treaon, all deceased. The daughters were Elizabeth Livingwood,…"

Research Notes

The above transcription is from page 12 of a biography, judging from the context, of one of her sons. The title (it may be a chapter heading) is "The Story of a Long Life", but searches on this title yield nothing. The piece is attached as a screenshot to Elizabeth's profile in several family trees on Ancestry.com. Unfortunately none of these profiles has source information for this piece, and none includes the next page, which resumably names the other four daughters. An undocumented link gives another daughter as Mary Treon, born 18 May 1803 in PA, married James Coffman.

Confusion here. Elisabeth was linked both to Michael Tryon b 1761 PA and Johan Michael Christian Trion b 1731 France. The latter is possible but highly unlikely, and I suspect this is a confusion between father (Johan Michael Christian) and son (Michael). Removing link to Johan Michael Christian.
