The author, Penny Kresl, seems to have good information about this family. Further exploration is needed, but I agree with her that there is no evidence for the parents of Sergeant-186 being William Sargent and Elizabeth Perkins.
Based on the above and that fact that there is already a well-known child of these parents named Thomas Sargent (Sargent-46) with many descendants, I am breaking the connection of Thomas Sergeant (Sergeant-186) to William Sargent Sr. (Sargent-188) and Elizabeth Perkins (Perkins-171).
