Samuel Seward was born September 18, 1754, in Morris county, New Jersey, and died April 22, 1828, in Union Township, Butler county, Ohio. Samuel served with New Jersey troops, during the American Revolutionary War. ^[1] According to records belonging to the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Samuel Seward, Ancestor # A102229 was twice married. His first wife was Abigail Pitney and his secon, Ann Misener Van Blear. Application for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of his sons, Isaac Seward, who married Mary Van Dyne; Daniel M. Seward, who married Matilda Greenleaf; Samuel Seward, who married 1) Ann Ayres and 2) Elizabeth Westcott Windsor; and Byram Seward, who married Phebe Thomas; and of his daughters, Elizabeth Seward, who married John Freman; and Mary Seward, who married Michael Paugh
