Will

In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Seward of Queen Ann's County in ye province of Maryland, Planter do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following, hereby revoking and disannulling all former and other Wills of any kind by me heretofore made.

I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God, who gave it me and my body to be buried in a Christianlike and decent manner at ye discretion of my loving wife Rebecca whom I hereby appoint to be sole executrix to see this my will performed and as to my worldly goods as it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me with I leave and bequeath in this manner following---

Item It is my Will that ye Plantation I live upon called Ye Out Range containing one Hundred and seventy four acres be it more or less, together with all & singular ye appurtenances be and remain to my loving wife Rebecca. During her widowhood. Nevertheless it is my will that Fifty Acres of ye said Outrange whereon my son William Seward now lives, be and remain to ye said William during his natural life and fifty acres of ye said Outrange whereon my son John Seward is now living be and remain to him during the Term of his Natural Life and it is my wish & desire that neither my son William Seward nor my son john Seward nor any person for or under them or either of them give, or anyway molest my loving Wife Rebecca as afd in her quiet and peaceable possession of the Remainder of ye Land called Outrange and ye appurtenances as af'd to it belonging during her widowhood as aforesaid.

Item It is my Will that ye fifty acres I have above bequeathed and devised to my son William for his lifetime as above sd shall and be after ye sd William decease ye property of my son Isaac Seward for and during the term of his natural life and also ye remainder of said Outrange mentioned to be given my wife Rebecca during her widowhood after her decease if she should during her Lifetime remain a widow, at her intermarriage hereafter. Then it is my will that ye lands mentioned and left to her afd. be equally divided betwixt William Seward do aforesaid if he should at ye time aforesaid be alive and if ye said William should be deceased ye said land as mentioned to be left him be the property of Daniel Seward as afd and the remaining part of my Wife Rebecca's part, after her widowhood, as afd be ye right of my son John Seward during his natural life and after his decease be the right of my son Isaac Seward, During his natural life.

Item It is my will and desire that land called Ye Outrange as aforesaid containing one hundred and seventy four acres as afd after the decease of ye persons mentioned as afd be the sole right & property of my grandson John Dempster and his heirs lawfully issuing from him forever and in case he should die or any failure of issue from him then to my daughter Rachels next issue and legal representatives first second and so on whilst any remaining and their issues the first and his issue always to be preferred before the rest & their issue so long as any remain alive.

Item It is my will that in case of failure of issue of my daughter Rachel Dempster as afd and their issue-then my Will is that ye said land as aforesaid be ye right and property of Rebecca Seward my daughter and her lawful issue in the same or like manner as is entailed on Rachel Dempster and her issue & case of failure of Sd Rachel and issue, Rebecca and issue then my Will is that ye sd lands and premises be ye right of Rhoda Seward and her issue, in like manner and them as mentioned to Rachel and Rebecca and their issue and in case of failure of any ye afd issues as afd then my Will is that ye above lands and premises be ye sole right of my daughter Ruth Seward to her and ye lawful issue of her body in like manner as it is by this my will entailed on my other daughters first above mentioned forever.

Item My will is that what personal estate I shall be blessed with at my decease after my just debts are paid to be left and to be ye sole right of my loving wife Rebeca Seward during her natural life and after her decease to be equally divided betwixt my daughters Rebecca Soward & Rhoda Soward, Susanna Soward and Ruth Soward to them their heirs and assigns forever.

Item My Will is that ye land in Kent County near Mr. Alexander Williamsons at Easter Neck called Lovelys Neck quantity one hundred acres be and remain to my son Thomas Seward to him and his heirs forever.

Item My Will is that ye lands lying above New Horn Bridge called Sewards Hope in Kent County containing one hundred and fifty acres be to my son William Soward & his heirs & assigns forever.

Item My Will is that in case my son William dies without lawful issue then my will is that ye afd land called Sewards Hope be & remain to my son George Seward to him and his lawful heirs forever.

Item I will and bequeath to my daughter Mary Horsey the fifty acres she now lives on & to her lawful issue forever- I give my daughter Ann Jackson a ewe & a lamb in full of her part of my personal & real estate.

Item I give my daughter Sarah Ford one ewe & one lamb in full for her part of my personal estate.

Item My Will is that my wife Rebecca Seward be my sole & whole executrix of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this sixteenth day of February, Anno 1752.
