At the time of the 1871 Census, they were living in Easthamptead with three of Thomas' step children, children from Charlotte's previous marriage. Thomas was working as a Wood Turner.[7]
In 1881, they were still in Easthamptead. Charlotte's son Henry (aged 17), from her first marriage, was still with them and Thomas' brother, Edward, was staying.[8]
By 1891 all the children had left home and Thomas and Charlotte were on their own with just a lodger in the house.[9]
In 1901, aged 63, Charles was working as a Cattleman on a farm. They were still living in Easthamptead.[10]
