Biography

Crusie Sexton lived in Appalachia, in Tennessee.

Crusie was born on September 22, 1894 at Almy in Scott County, Tennessee. He was the son of William Charley Sexton and [[ Eldora ( Jeffers ) Sexton. He married Stella Craig on December 15, 1934 in Anderson County, Tennessee, ( Stella's information is unknown at this time ). He passed away on June. 16, 1936 at Oneida in Scott County.

He served in the US Army, TN Corp 15 Infantry. He was a prisoner of war, most likely in France.

Cruise/Cruisie created this statue, dubbed the Devil of Scott County. It was made from clay and bones from a nearby coal mine.

His occupation was as a coal miner, but also enjoyed art.
