Lassie was born on July 11, 1904 at Norma in Scott County. Norma's name was changed to Norcross on December 17, 1915, then later changed back to Norma on June 21, 1919. He was the son of Cicero C. Sexton and Texas Ann ( Newport ) Sexton . He worked for the New River Lumber Company as a laborer in the lumber mill, pulling lumber from the chain. He passed away at home in Norcross during the spanish influenza pandemic of 1918, he died of influenza and pneumonia on November 1, 1918.
