Josephine was born in 1910. She passed away in 2003. HEMBREE, JOSEPHINE SEXTON - passed away Sunday, January 26, 2003, after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, HERBERT MARION HEMBREE, and son, THOMAS DEWEY HEMBREE; parents, ERNIE GOODMAN SEXTON and RILEY SEXTON; sisters, IDA HAMBY, NORA ACRES, FLONNIE WEBB, and FLORA SEXTON; brothers, GILBERT SEXTON, ALBERT SEXTON, and LONNIE SEXTON. She was third born of thirteen children in Cortland, Tennessee, on January 16, 1910. She moved to Norris with her family in 1944, when her husband was transferred there by the TVA. She was well known for her independent nature, devotion to her family, sewing, and working in her yard whenever weather permitted. Survivors: daughters, MARION JO HEMBREE MARKHAM of Loganville, Ga., and VINA ISABELLE HEMBREE McINTOSH of Tucker, Ga.; daughter-in- law, ESTHER McCLUNG HEMBREE of Tracy City, Tenn.; son-in- law, WILLIAM JEROME McINTOSH of Tucker, Ga.; granddaughters, ROBYN DENISE MARKHAM WEISS of Tyler, Texas, KIMBERLY MICHELLE MARKHAM Smith of Grayson, Ga., JODY ELLEN HEMBREE WALLACE of Franklin, Tenn., and CARRIE ELIZABETH HEMBREE of Stevens Point, Wis.; grandsons, MATTHEW ROBERT HEMBREE of Fort Worth, Texas, WILLIAM JUDSON McINTOSH of Norcross, Ga., and THOMAS ANDREW McINTOSH of Tucker, Ga.; great-grandchildren, HARLEY WEISS, MITCHELL WARREN WEISS, SAVANNAH SMITH, JOSEPH SMITH, CHANDLER SMITH, and MAE LOUISE SMITH; sisters, OLLIE DANIELS, LAURIE WEBB, and HAZEL VINERATOS of St. Petersburg, Fla., WILLIE YOUNG of Okeechobee, Fla., and EARNIE MAE HELLER of Lecanto, Fla. The family will be receiving friends at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City, Tenn., on Saturday, February 1, 2003, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The graveside service will be held at Huntsville Cemetery in Scott County, Tenn., on Sunday, February 2, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. PHIL HAMLIN officiating.
