In 1930, Claude, 20 mo, was living in East Whitesburg, Letcher, KY with his parents, Floyd, 33, and Rosa, 30. Also in the household were Cecil, 14, Dessie, 12, Troy, 8, Della, 6, and Margery, 6 mo, Claude was born in KY.[2]
In 1940, Claude, 11, was living in Knott, KY with his mother, Rosie Humphry, 40. Also in the household were Bella, 16, Margie, 10, Chester, 4, and hired hand, Buddie Sexton, 16. Rosie owned a farm which I assume Buddie was working.[3]
Claude Sexton enlisted as a PVT in the US Army on 21 Feb 1946 at Camp Atterbury, Columbus, IN. His civilian occupation was skilled occupations in manufacture of electrical machinery. He was single with no dependents.[4] and was discharged 7 Jun 1951. His unit was Det 3, 1931 AACS Sqdn APO 944 - ℅ PM Seattle, WA. His tombstone, when he died, from the military was sent to Rev. Kernel Sexton.[5]
Claude Sexton is buried in Thornton Cemetery, Thornton, KY. His tombstone has “Claude Sexton, Kentucky, S SGT 1931 AF AACS Sq, World War II, July 3, 1928-June 7 1951.[6].
